Instructional Practice
When I began my career in the DOE, I was very nervously focused on what I assumed were the expectations of a traditional "theater teacher." I quickly learned that arguably the most important skill I could have is adaptability. The willingness to change, to listen to the needs of your students, to support your colleagues whenever and however possible has served me far more than any lesson plan I wrote in undergrad.
In this section, you'll get a glimpse at the work I do, from formal observations, to favorite lessons, to how my work has shifted to involve STEAM and literacy concepts, moving away from a "traditional theater" teacher of sorts to the type of theater teacher that supports, fundamentally, the needs of a community of Early Childhood learners and educators.
I'm very proud of the work I've accomplished so far and eager to continue to adapt as I grow throughout my career in the DOE. Please enjoy!
